Building a Website
The Internet is growing at a crazy pace and more people than ever are putting up their own website. For people new to it, though, it can be a little bit confusing. Words like HTML, CSS, blogs start what seems like a completely new vocabulary.
In this course here at PCMech University, we will walk you from the basics up to the point of actually creating and designing your own website. This course starts at the ground level, providing information on how the Internet works, what you’re going to need, how to find a web server (and what is that?). Then it progresses though HTML itself and how to begin hand-coding HTML.
Now, the reason we show you how to hand-code HTML is so that you have a SOLID foundation for using a product like Dreamweaver or Frontpage. It will be so much easier if you understanding the underlying HTML.
But, it doesn’t stop at hand-coding. Most people use what-you-see-is-what-you-get editors like the ones above, and we’ll show you how to use those, too.
The course is going to end off talking about basic use of CSS stylesheets.
Putting together your own website is not hard, but you need to have a foundational knowledge or the rest of it will seem confusing. This course is the perfect start for somebody looking to get into this for the first time. By the end of this course, you will be able to create your first website with little hassle and you will have an understanding of the underlying technologies.
